My "Holly Jolly" Christmas!

Merry Christmas future readers!

Yeah, OK, I know it's New Year's Eve; but I've been having so much fun playing with all my new toys, and seeing what all my other friends got for Christmas, that I almost forgot about my time capsule diary (sorry!). Anyway, on Christmas morning, after I dug into my stocking, I woke up my mom and ran into the living room.

Woweee! Another super big box! I wonder what it was this time? Was it more Honey Hill bunch stuff? Board games? New clothes? Well there was only one way to find out!

Man, Santa sure wrapped this box up good!

Outta site and dyn-o-mite! It's a whole bunch of new accessories for My Real Baby doll, Lucy!

Wow! Look what it comes with! Let's get this thing open!

Far out! It comes with a crib, a rocking horse, a high chair, a wagon, a tricycle, a bathtub, a rubber duckie, a baby bottle, a bowl and spoon, a blanket and some clothes! Thanks Santa!

I ran to my room to go get Lucy and show her all the neat stuff I got for her. "See Lucy? You got all new stuff!"

"Be a good girl, Lucy, and eat your cereal."

"You wanna ride your tricycle, Lucy?"

"Not so fast, baby. You scare Mommy."

Lucy was getting sleepy, so I put her down for a nap in her new crib while I opened up my other presents.

My friend Vivienne in West Virginia sent me a new purse and some groovy sparkly movie star sunglasses!

The boys' friend Kevin sent me a new record! All right!

"Hey, it's that new song by The Sylvers I heard on the radio last week, Wait 'til Kim sees this!"

Speaking of records, I forgot to tell you.....my mom gave me a K-tel Looney Tunes record for my "Waiting for Santa" gift last night. But it's not like the cartoons. In case you don't know, K-tel is a company that puts out groovy (what's that word, Mom? Y'know for a bunch of songs all together?) Oh yeah...groovy compilations of hit songs. But this is a collection of really goofy songs. I've been seeing the commercial on TV for this record for weeks! I played some of it last night and it's really funny!

It was a really super Christmas! I've been having so much fun playing "Mommy" with all of Lucy's new accessories, and dancing to my new records in my movie star glasses. I'm sorry to say though that my mom came down with a really bad cold, so I won't be able to have my friends over for New Year's Eve this year. So my mom and I decided to eat junk food and watch the Twilight Zone marathon tonight and all day tomorrow.

I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and a super groovy New Year!

Until next time, future readers,
Your friend,
Julie Newman

    2. I got a babydoll, a makeup kit with real lipstick and rouge, a pretty sweater and The Barbie Game. I like the Enchanted Evening gown and Poindexter the best.

  3. Hi Julie,
My granddaughter and I almost made it till midnight. About 10 p.m. we could hardly keep our eyes open so we set our alarm for 11:30 so we could be awake enough to watch the ball drop in Time Square. We toasted the new year with sparkling grape juice, then went back to bed.
Happy New Year from your future friend,

  4. Hi Julie,
Richie came over for a sleepover with me and CJ. We stayed up till midnight! We played a mean game of dominos (CJ won), played with our new train, ate popcorn, finished up the last of the Christmas cookies and watched Guy Lombardo on TV. My mom let us sleep in the next morning until 10:00 and then made us French toast and bacon for breakfast.
Happy New Year from your favorite turkey,
    Kevin

    1. Sounds like you guys had fun. No Dick Clark? We finished our Christmas cookies the day after Christmas, but we had some brownies leftover.

    2. Yeah, we switched back and forth between Guy Lombardo and Dick Clark. My sisters like to see the fancy dresses the ladies wear in Guy Lombardo's ballroom.

  5. WOW, so much cool stuff. Santa must have thought you were a very good girl this year. I'd better not let Louisa see this post or she will have me looking for all of those things for Lily!

    1. HAHA! Tell Louisa if she ever gets her hands on a time machine, she can bring Lily and come back to the 70s to play with me!

  6. I love this! What a great Christmas gift, an adorable doll and ALL her accessories. All my best Christmas memories were getting a doll and that unique smell that surrounds a new doll. Enjoy your new doll Julie.
