Slumber Party at Vivienne's House!

Hello future readers!

During lunch time at Spring Mills School today, me, and Vivienne, Betta and Evelyn were talking about having a slumber party tonight. When we got back to Vivienne's house, her mom said it was OK, so we called all the girls' moms and they said it would be OK too! Dynamite! At 5p.m. Everyone showed up in their PJs carrying their favorite doll. Am I glad I brought Vivian with me!

Mrs. Walton said we could make our own pizza! Right on! She bought a Chef Boyardee pizza mix at the store, so we all went into the kitchen. Each of us took turns mixing and kneading the dough, rolling it out, (Evelyn wanted to toss it like a pizza chef, but Mrs. Walton vetoed that idea!), and adding the sauce, cheese and pepperoni.

Then we put it in the oven and waited half an hour for it to bake.

Mrs. Walton said we should go downstairs to their rec room, and get the blankets ready and check the T.V. Guide to see what movie we could watch while we ate our pizza. We decided on "The Sound Of Music".  I love that movie. My mom has the soundtrack album, and we learned "Edelweiss" in Music class at my school. Mrs. Walton brought down the pizza and some sodas, and we settled down to watch the movie. We all sang along to "Doe A Deer" and "The Lonely Goatherd". I think it's cool that the girl who plays Penny in Lost In Space (that's a T.V, show) is in this movie too.

When the movie was over, Vivienne went over to her bookshelf and pulled out a couple of teen magazines, and one of them was Tiger Beat, with David Cassidy on the cover! Far out! I don't have this issue!

The other magazine was called "Spec" and it had Bobby Sherman on the cover. He's my friend Stephanie's favorite singing star. He was Evelyn's favorite too. I remember he was on The Partridge Family once, and me and Stephanie kept arguing over who was the cutest and the best singer.

"So what's your favorite episode of The Partridge Family, Julie?", Betta asked me.
"I don't know", I answered. "It's hard to pick a favorite. They're all so groovy. I like "The Princess and the Partridge."
"Yeah, that's a good one!", Vivienne agreed. "What's your favorite Partridge song?"
"It's gotta be "Brown Eyes", I answered. "I always pretend "Keith" is singing it to me."
"I like "I Think I Love You". Betta said.
"My favorite is "I Woke Up In Love This Morning", Vivienne told us.
"Hey!", Evelyn piped in. "Doesn't anybody like Bobby Sherman?"
"We're sorry, Evelyn", Betta apologized. "We didn't mean to leave you out."
"I like Bobby", I told her. "Only I like him on T.V. better than I like his singing."
"Really?", said Evelyn. "Do you like "Here Come The Brides?"
"Oh sure", I answered. "I watch that show with Stephanie and her cousin Melody sometimes."
"Hey, who wants to play dress up?", Vivienne asked. "I've got some princess crowns and necklaces."
"And I brought my make-up set", Betta told us.
"I'm not allowed to wear make-up", Vivienne said sadly.
"Then you can just wear pefume and some lip gloss, OK?", Betta told her.
"Yeah, OK...thanks Betta", Vivienne smiled.

*giggle* "I don't think the necklaces were supposed to be a mask, Evelyn."

The Movie Stars!

"Now everybody say cheese!"

"Hey Julie, I saw a groovy new hairstyle in one of my mom's fashion magazines. Can I try it out on your hair?". Vivienne asked.
"I don't know about this, Viv...are you sure you know what you're doing?"
"Trust me."

So Vivienne put my hair up in curlers. I guess I'm too tender-headed, 'cos it hurt!

I felt like the Bride of Frankenstein! I guess Betta and Evelyn thought so too, 'cos they laughing their heads off!

Ok, that did it! I told Vivienne I was sorry, but I changed my mind about the new hairstyle. Besides, I couldn't sleep in those curlers, anyway.

"So what do you guys wanna do now?", I asked.

"Let's make friendship bracelets", said Vivienne. " I got a whole set of pretty colored beads that my aunt sent me for Christmas."

The beads were very pretty, and there was enough beads and elastic cord for all of us!

Aren't they neat? "We'll be Friends Forever", I said .

*Yawn*  "I'm getting sleepy", Evelyn told us.
"Yeah, me too", I said.
"I guess we should turn in", Vivienne said.

So we all took turns brushing our teeth in the little bathroom right next to the rec room. Then we all got our blankets  and pillows and laid down on the floor."

"Hey don't forget about our dolls" said Betta. They need rest too!"

So I got up and made a cozy bed for all our dolls.

*Yawn* "This slumber party was outta site, Vivienne", said Evelyn. "Thanks for inviting us over."
"Yeah, thanks Viv", said Betta.
"It was so much fun!", I said.
"I'm glad you guys had a good time", Vivienne mumbled. I think she was falling asleep.

*Yawn*  Good-night, future readers!

Until next time,
Your friend,
Julie Newman
