Vivienne's Back! And We're Gong to Camp Echo Hill!

Hello future readers!

Earlier today, me and my mom went to the airport to pick up Vivienne. I was so excited, I was squirming all over the back seat of my mom's car!

We finally got to the airport. I wanted to run to the gate where Vivienne's plane was landing, but my mom held my hand so I wouldn't get lost.

When we got to her gate, the other people were just getting off the plane. Then I spotted Vivienne and called out to her! Outta site! She's finally here!

We gave each other a big bear hug! It was so good to see her again. And we're gonna be together for 2 whole weeks! Far out!

Vivienne picked up her suitcase and we went out to my mom's car.

The drive wasn't very long, so we talked about what's been happening in West Virginia since I left.  Vivienne told me Kevin was sad he wasn't coming to Camp Wilderness this year with Danny, Jason and Kyle. He wished he was gonna be here so he could pay me back for the "bloody finger" in the tackle box joke. Vivienne said she had to remind him that he promised no more stupid jokes! She told me that all the kids missed me and they want me to come back soon. Aww, that's really groovy. Little G learned how to say "cookie", so now every time he sees someone, he asks for a cookie. That's pretty funny!

Vivienne also told me that Laura, our camp counselor just got a new boyfriend named Jeremy.  She said he's a good looking guy, and would probably be a knock-out once he gets rid of his zits. Ewwww!

Man, am I glad I'm not a teenager! When we got to my house, we went up to my room where Boomer was waiting for us.

We rapped about movies (she saw Tarzan too!),  David Cassidy, Vivienne's latest crush Donny Osmond, (he's OK, but not as cute as David!) and of course, camp. Vivienne had been on lotsa camp-outs with her family, day camp and even church, but she'd never been to a sleep-away camp for 2 weeks.

I think Boomer really missed Vivienne!  My mom called us down to dinner. We washed up and went downstairs. I knew what we were having before we even hit the kitchen! Spaghetti and meatballs! Dynamite!

Vivienne still had about a bajillion questions about Camp Echo Hill. Were we sleeping in cabins or tents? Did they have a flag ceremony like Camp Falling Waters?  Was Kerry a nice counselor? Would  we be in the same camp as the boys? What was my favorite thing about camp? What about camp was the pits? Whew!

After 2 helpings of spaghetti, neither one of us wanted dessert. Vivienne was getting a little tired. The long flight here was catching up with her, and she was still on West Virginia time (that's 3 hours ahead).  So we decided to turn in early, which was OK by me. Tomorrow, we leave for camp!

Until then , future readers,
Your friend,
Julie Newman

From everything you've told us about Camp Echo Hill I just know Vivienne is going to have a great time, as long as she watches out for Three Finger Willy!

    1. Haha! We will be seeing the boys at camp, but they were warned that if they tried pulling any jokes on us girls, they were gonna get creamed! I can't wait to see what activities we get to do this year!
